Sporting Club de Portugal defender Ousmane Diomande is not pushing for a move to Arsenal or Manchester City just yet.
That’s according to his agent, Luís Cassiano Neves, who has insisted the player is more than happy where he is for the time being.
Diomande has been impressing for Sporting since joining them in the January transfer window, slowly establishing himself as a first-team player since his arrival.
He’s continued on that path this season, starring in Ruben Amorim’s team and seemingly setting himself up as the next potential big exit from the Portuguese club.
That was certainly the sentiment being shared by the Portuguese press over the weekend, with one report making it clear that Sporting see him as a potential big sale and there were already suitors keeping an eye on him.
They were named as Arsenal and Manchester City, who were said to have been scouting the defender for months, something which had led to them compiling positive reports on his performances and development.
It seems, though, that Diomande is not eyeing up a move as yet, even if the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City are on offer.
“He is extremely satisfied at Sporting, he is very focused on the club and the objectives for this season, which include winning the national title and improving,” his agent, and lawyer, Luís Cassiano Neves told A Bola.
“And he knows that Sporting is the ideal club for this evolution. The player will be happy to sit at the table with Sporting but so far there is nothing.
“Sporting is Diomande’s present and future, he wants to evolve but there is nothing regarding renewal.”
This all sounds very much like an agent trying to pressure a club into renewal talks.
