Fluminense’s John Kennedy has been a regular goalscorer over the past few months and can now end up at Wolves or Watford.
The 24-year-old has found the net nine times in the 2026 edition of the Brazilian top-flight. He also notched up two goals in the Libertadores, doing quite well in the Mexican first division in the 2024/25 campaign.
While this hasn’t led to a call-up to the Brazil national team, he has previously played six times for the U23s.
Now, transfer talk around the striker is heating up. Wolves and Watford could be possible destinations.
Udinese key in the race
Messaggero Veneto cover Udinese’s interest in the 24-year-old. Since Kennedy can play multiple positions in attack, the Italian club see him as a versatile option to improve their frontline.
Their task is unlikely to be easy. Wolves are as interested as Udinese, with Shakhtar Donetsk also very much in the race.
Fluminense’s valuation of €10m is seen as ‘whopping’ by Udinese. It would require a significant amount of effort, which will only be put in if Nicolo Zaniolo leaves in the summer.
There is also the chance that Kennedy may not be keen on playing in Italy. If that happens, the Pozzo family can hand Watford a chance to sign him. This would only be a loan deal. The Brazilian can return to Udinese as a better player who can then be sold.
The Friulian side’s connection with his agents at Bertolucci Sports could be key. They dealt with another client of theirs, Brenner, in the last two seasons.
Our take: Wolves likely in advantage
Because of finances, Rob Edwards’ side are probably leading the race for the forward. Udinese aren’t keen on parting ways with Zaniolo, which will make another major attacking signing difficult.
Since Jørgen Strand Larsen’s exit, Wolves haven’t had a striker who can score consistently. Kennedy can solve that problem, start in the Championship, get used to playing in England and help them get back to the Premier League.
