Chelsea have secured a ‘beastly talent’ in youngster Kendy Páez, who is capable of winning the Ballon d’Or, or at least getting close to it.
That’s according to his agent Manuel Sierra, who has backed the youngster for a bright future in the game once he eventually ends up at Chelsea in future.
Páez is set to join Chelsea in July 2025 after they moved to secure the 16-year-old’s signature in June last year.
He can’t officially join the Blues until he turns 18 in a couple of years’ time but that has not stopped expectations from already building around the midfielder, who is believed to have cost Chelsea around Chelsea around €20m despite his age.
The young Ecuadorian is highly rated in his homeland having starred for Independiente since his debut, sigh five goals and one assist in 29 games so far and five games and one goal already for Ecuador’s senior side.
He’s very much a star of the future and a player to keep an eye on, at least according to his agent, who is predicting big things and admits they’re already working on making him a star.
“I don’t know if we are going to have such a beastly talent in my life again like Kendry Páez,” he said.
“Today he is still at 50% of his chances, 60% of his chances. He is a boy who, if he learns to be professional, learns to live in professionalism, not professionalism, but in professionalism, he is a guy who can be, for me, if not Ballon d’Or, be very close to being Ballon d’Or in the next, six, seven or eight years.
“I think he can be one of the greats in the world. He has it all. He is a guy who is super prepared for success.
“I think we are doing a great job. Hopefully in July 2025 he can arrive with all the credentials to be one of Chelsea’s important players, which is what we are working towards.”
