Marseille’s Morgan Sanson was linked with a move to the Premier League last summer, but no deal materialised.

On April 6th, we relayed news from France that Everton are one of the clubs who are keen on taking the midfielder.

Wednesday’s edition of L’Equipe claims the 25-year-old ‘dreams’ of playing in the top flight club competition in England. In order to fulfil his dream, the Ligue 1 star ‘recently got closer’ to super-agent Pini Zahavi.

The Israeli representative is tasked with helping Sanson find a club in the Premier League, which is why he has been in touch with a handful of clubs, with the Toffees being one among them.

It’s claimed Zahavi has ‘initiated contact’ with the Merseyside club, but there’s been no further developments.

Marseille president Jacques-Henri Eyraud has informed Zahavi that he’s looking for around €35-40m for Sanson, but the agent believes the fee demanded is ‘far too much’.

He’s probably right.

Despite qualifying for next season’s Champions League, the report adds financial difficulty has left the French club with ‘no choice, but to sell’ a few of their players to raise around €60m in the summer.
