Earlier in April, Wolverhampton Wanderers held a meeting with Valencia and one of the topics discussed was a swap deal involving Rafa Mir and Gonçalo Guedes.

This took place before Nuno Espírito Santo left Wolves after last season and he has now landed a job at Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs appointing the former FC Porto manager could have a role in the recent reports linking them with Guedes.

Deporte Valenciano are now reporting the La Liga side need to raise funds by offloading some of their players and Guedes’ name is included in the list.

It’s claimed Los Ches are not close to completing a sale of any of the players put on transferable list and the website also provide a background on the Portugal international.

Guedes is managed by Jorge Mendes and the report states the super-agent ‘seems to be going with everything to place’ the former PSG man at the north London club.

In the event Mendes succeeds in taking his client to Tottenham in a couple of weeks, things could ‘look different’ for Valencia, who are waiting to cash in from the sales of some of their important players.
