Whisper it quietly, but things may actually be moving on Bruno Fernandes, or at least his agent and Sporting are trying to make that the case.
Today’s edition of Correio da Manha reports the player’s agent Miguel Pinho has flown to England to hear proposals from both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Sporting president Frederico Varandas has asked Pinho to ‘accelerate the process’, and that’s what he’s trying to do. As it stands, it’s stated the Red Devils and Spurs are the best placed clubs.
Accelerate is a word being used repeatedly in Portuguese coverage of Bruno’s situation this week.
Over at A Bola today, they say Pinho is in England ‘to accelerate the inevitable departure’.
Just like Correio da Manha, they also say there’s contacts between the agent and Manchester United and Tottenham.
The first newspaper said Paul Pogba’s exit (which they think is happening) opens up space for Bruno’s arrival at Old Trafford, yet the second one doesn’t even mention the Frenchman.
Manchester United are thought to be able to get to the €70m demanded without too much trouble.
Reading between the lines, it would appear someone has the leaked the information of a Pinho trip, that United and Spurs are keen, and that Sporting want things to move forward now, the rest differs from source to source.
