The latest from Italy in the Federico Chiesa saga is that Fali Ramadani’s trip to England was a complete disaster.
Corriere dello Sport report the agent had travelled to convert interest from Tottenham into an offer, and to try and get similar from other Premier League clubs.
Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Aston Villa have all been named in recent days along with Tottenham, and Ramadani’s aim was reportedly to return to Juventus with firm offers for the winger.
He’s arrived back empty handed and that means Juve’s situation with Chiesa is even worse than it had been. There was always the hope that someone in the Premier League would pay €25m+ for him, which was felt to be discounted given the fact his contract expires next year.
Ramadani’s failure to turn Tottenham interest into something more concrete means Juventus are now set to offer a bigger discount as they look to avoid losing the player on a free transfer.
Corriere dello Sport report they’re now looking at €15-17m, with perhaps a resale percentage.
An opportunity there for Tottenham and others, and perhaps a chance for other agents and intermediaries to try and muscle in.
