The Portuguese media brings new updates on Anderson Talisca’s situation today, saying Manchester United and Liverpool continue to battle for the Benfica midfielder.
On Wednesday, newspaper A Bola claims that the player’s agent Carlos Leite is currently in England to sort out the Brazilian’s situation.
Once again, the outlet sounds pretty sure that a move to the Premier League will happen, as they start the story saying ‘his future lies there’.
Talisca has just returned from Besiktas, who had a €21m buying option over him, but couldn’t afford to use it.
The Eagles have no intention to keep Talisca in the squad for the next season, because of attitude problems he previously had at the club.
So even if Manchester United or Liverpool don’t get him for €40m, it’s very likely that Benfica will end up bending and letting him go for much less.
At the weekend O Jogo reported United had already offered €40m, and then there were claims Talisca was thinking about it… which made little sense.
Reading between the lines, it seems Benfica president Luís Filipe Vieira wants €40m and has sent Carlos Leite to try and get it. A case of the player being pushed to the clubs mentioned, rather than them chasing the deal.
