Jorginho’s agent João Santos has given an interview to Italian website Tutto Mercato Web this Tuesday.
When representatives are interviewed, there’s normally some small talk until the conversation gets to the point of speaking about their client’s future. But it hasn’t been the case here.
Tutto Mercato Web were pretty direct asking about the chances of Jorginho leaving Chelsea soon. And despite saying a move is not in the plans, his agent has actually given some reason for bigger rumours in the future.
First quizzed if it’s possible that the Chelsea midfielder will return to Italy, João Santos said: “He arrived in Italy at fifteen, plays in England but his heart is Italian. At Chelsea he’s doing very well, he’s an important player for the team, a second captain. When a team gives this great confidence to a player, it’s because they plan the future together with him. However…”.
“Not immediately, but he will return to Italy in the future. If there was the possibility, he would take it into consideration, but not immediately.”
Then Tutto Mercato Web asked the representative about Maurizio Sarri’s job at Juventus: “When you go to Juventus with all the champions that are there, it’s not easy to impose a different game. You have to work. But Juve win. And this is the important thing.”
But it seems that question was just a pretext so they could question him about Jorginho working with Sarri once again: “Today, Jorginho’s coach is Lampard. He thinks of Chelsea, of course”.
Speaking of Frank Lampard, João Santos has also talked about what he expects for Chelsea this season: “They are in a rebuild, and Jorginho is a pillar of this. The coach is in his first year, he’s learning the league as a coach. The team can reach the top four”.
