Eddie Nketiah has started just once for Crystal Palace this season, having spent the previous campaign mainly as an option off the bench.

He’s played only 189 minutes in the Premier League so far this campaign, with injury worries holding the player back at Selhurst Park.

Despite that, the forward is now being monitored for a major move.

Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport reports AS Roma see him as an option to improve their attack.

The report claims the 26-year-old is seeking more game time than he gets at Crystal Palace, and this has attracted Roma.

Roma also have a working relationship with Nketiah’s agent, who also represents Jadon Sancho.

The Giallorossi tried to sign the Aston Villa player in the summer. A move didn’t go through but talks were held with his entourage. This foundation can prove important in potentially landing the Crystal Palace player.

Nketiah is a ‘newcomer’ on Roma’s shortlist, with Joshua Zirkzee and Borussia Dortmund’s Fabio Silva also seen as targets.

The report doesn’t provide as much context as it should, though. This is because Sancho’s agent was actually a problem to the Roman side in the summer.

Corriere dello Sport claimed in August that commission demands were a reason Roma didn’t sign the winger. As a result, it may be difficult to see how Gian Piero Gasperini’s side go back in for another one of his clients in January.
