The agent of Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci has told the Italian media he’ll soon hold talks with Empoli over the future of his client. The 27-year-old is currently on loan with the Serie A side.

Speaking to TMW, Michelangelo Minieri was asked about the future of the Leeds United loanee.

Minieri confirmed Empoli can make the move permanent, and they’d like to learn Empoli’s intentions.

“He’s on loan with a right of redemption with Empoli, we’ll talk soon with the club. We will meet Empoli to understand their ideas and decide together what to do,” said Bellusci’s agent.

Bellusci has been one of the stand out players for Empoli this season, and despite being at the wrong end of the Serie A table it seems they can avoid the drop after last weekend’s results.

There have been recent claims Bellusci will leave Leeds United for €2m in the next window, with a stipulation on Serie A survival, but the agent makes it sound less straightforward than that. No longer in the plans of Garry Monk at Leeds United, Bellusci and his agent will be hoping to secure a permanent Italy return, with Empoli the likeliest option.
