Liverpool have another three weeks to offload Mario Balotelli. The Italian striker has another couple of years left on his contract, and up to now Liverpool have found it very difficult to find a buyer.
Ajax are reportedly interested in Balotelli, but recent reports have suggested Serie A club Chievo Verona are also in the race.
According to Corriere di Verona in their Wednesday edition, Mario Balotelli, Mino Raiola, Luca Campedelli, Chievo’s president, and Luca Nember, Chievo’s sporting director met in a restaurant named Cavour di Dossobuono last Wednesday.
The 25-year-old has agreed to join Chievo, and could be also ready to take a wage cut to facilitate a move. However, Corriere di Verona don’t seem to be sure if the Serie A club could manage his transfer fee which they believe only Ajax and few other interested clubs can do.
Chievo Verona believe Balotelli could help them raise their profile in the media and market in general. if Liverpool seriously want Balotelli gone then they may have to let him go for a token transfer fee.
