Manchester United are once again being linked with Gareth Bale in Spain, with El Confidencial stating the player’s agent is aware the Old Trafford club want him.

Jose Mourinho last year went public with his desire to sign the Welshman, but explained any deal would be unlikely until Bale decides he wants to leave Real Madrid.

El Confidencial state that should Bale not have a big role for Madrid against PSG tonight then the agent will start seriously looking for the exit.

Jonathan Barnett would try to find his client a team where he’d be more prominent, and it all hinges on Zinedine Zidane’s Tuesday decisions.

That big development tonight would be the prompt for things to get more serious, and it’s explained Florentino Perez would be looking for something in the region of €100m.

Given Manchester United have signed Alexis Sanchez, and Mourinho has made it clear he’s now looking at midfielders rather than attackers, a transfer looks less likely than it once was.

There’d almost certainly have to be one big departure for Bale to Manchester United to make sense.
