With João Félix missing the penalty which took Portugal out of the Euros, he’s not having a great summer, and now needs to find a new destination as well.
Newspaper Record today shares a story explaining the whole scenario the player is involved in, and as he analyses his options, Aston Villa are one of the alternatives.
It’s said that Félix wants to sort his future as soon as possible, as he doesn’t want to get back to Atlético Madrid for their pre-season.
There are three clubs he could be joining: Aston Villa, Barcelona and Benfica. And he is agent Jorge Mendes is set to analyse those options ‘with great care’.
The big problem is that Atlético Madrid are said to be demanding €60m for his sale, in order to recover part of the money they spent to get him signed back in 2019.
It’s quite unlikely that any of the interested clubs would want to pay that. Regarding Aston Villa, it’s said that Unai Emery’s side would actually want Félix to arrive on a loan deal.
Agent Jorge Mendes is the one who’s set to take care of everything, and it shouldn’t take long until a final decision is made.
