Nasser Djiga’s move to Wolverhampton Wanderers was a complicated one that had to be completed within 24 hours.

That’s according to his agent Marcel Veeman, speaking to 226 Foot, who has confirmed the complicated negotiations to get the player to Wolves on deadline day.

Djiga completed a move to Wolves on the final day of the window on Monday, joining in a €12m deal from Red Star.

He was part of a double arrival at Molineux alongside Marshall Munetsi, who also arrived in a €20m deal from Reims.

The pair are one of several defenders targeted by the club in the January transfer window, with Vitor Pereira having been determined to improve that area of the team in the window.

He’s moved Wolves to a back three and wanted additions in the squad before the window shut, with central defence having been a problem area since Max Kilman’s move to West Ham in the summer.

He eventually got what he wanted as Djiga and Munetsi both arrived on deadline day and joined Emmanuel Agbadou in joining in the winter window.

Getting those deals over the line quickly was no mean feat, at least according to Djiga’s agent, who has confirmed it was a rush to the finish line.

“Since last season, many clubs have been interested in Nasser,” he told 226 Foot.

“He is talented, serious, and his performances have proven that he could cross an important level. However, for me, it was essential to let it progress, play more and analyze the different options well.

“We have received many calls, held multiple meetings with the Red Star, which greatly appreciates the player and wanted to guarantee a good sale.

“It was a very complicated affair. Sunday evening, we had an agreement with the red star of Belgrade, but it was changed. We then only had 24 hours to find a new agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers and organize medical examinations.

“I am delighted for him, he deserves it. It was a long way, but we were finally able to sign with Wolverhampton today. I am convinced that this step will mark a major advance in her career.”
