Luis Palma’s €3.5m valuation is seen as ‘affordable’ for Sevilla this summer, increasing the likelihood the Celtic forward makes the move to Spain.

Orgullo Biri report that the Spanish club are moving for the Celtic man because of his low-cost valuation this summer.

An affordable signing

A report last week stated that Sevilla are ‘attempting to convince’ Luis Palma into a move to the club this summer.

They have been impressed by his performances on loan at Lech Poznan. The 26-year-old has shone for the Polish side this season, with nine goals and nine assists in 42 games in all competitions this season.

They are likely to exercise a €4m option to buy the winger, but Sevilla are looking to intervene according to reports in Spain.

Sources close to the player then denied anything was going on. But they did insist that Palma is keen on a move to a top five league this summer. Celtic are likely to sell him after two successive loan deals away from the club.

Orgullo Biri now report that Palma’s current valuation of €3.5m is ‘a figure within Sevilla’s reach’. They see Palma as ‘affordable’. Either a loan with an option or a low-cost transfer would work for them.

They add that while Lech Poznan want to sign Palma permanently, the player might prioritise La Liga is a firm offer arrives. Celtic are open to a sale after Palma’s successive loans at Olympiacos and Lech.

Sevilla situation key

First and foremost, Sevilla will need to ensure that they are in La Liga. They now face a crucial stretch of the season in which that will be determined.

Their planning for next season is contingent on the outcome. That is very much the case for Luis Palma. A deal for the Celtic forward will only move forward if the Spanish side stay up.

But if they do, he is seen as an affordable option that they wish to pursue for next season.
