Pierre Dwomoh has hardly featured for Watford since arriving at Vicarage Road from Royal Antwerp in August 2024.
An injury forced the midfielder to sit on the sidelines between January and March. This partly restricted his game time to 569 minutes from 11 matches. Last summer, he had an opportunity to leave Watford before Gino Pozzo blocked his exit.
Dwomoh missed the start of this season due to a thigh problem. He came off the bench against West Bromwich Albion in October and that’s his only appearance of the current campaign.
The 21-year-old’s situation at Watford has seen AS Saint-Étienne take notice. That’s according to Peuple-Vert, who report the French club have showed interest.
Recent claims from elsewhere stated he’s close to joining Saint-Étienne in the winter market. The report explained the Ligue 2 side were in advanced negotiations, but the deal collapsed after the Hornets pulled the plug.
Peuple-Vert have looked into this claim and dismissed it. They state Saint-Étienne ‘never actually pursued’ the Belgian even though he was identified as a target.
Saint-Étienne are now looking at another midfielder and Peuple-Vert haven’t managed to gather his details yet.
Javi Gracia has left Dwomoh out of the squad since November. There’s unlikely to be any changes soon and it will be best for the player to leave Watford in January.
