RB Leipzig have made no secret of their plans to try and get Ademola Lookman back at the club this summer.
The Everton youngster spent the second half of the season in the Bundesliga and scored five goals as well as adding three assists.
Many fans of the Merseyside club are against the 20 year old leaving, especially on a permanent transfer, but the interest from Leipzig still exists.
Bild report on Tuesday that Lookman is the German club’s ‘preferred candidate’… then there’s a ‘but’. Everton are said to be asking for a €20m transfer fee to release the former Charlton Athletic player.
RB Leipzig’s transfer budget this summer was €40m, and Bild explain they’ve already spent that on Marcelo Saracchi, Nordi Mukiele and Matheus Cunha. Selling Bernardo to Brighton & Hove Albion has brought in additional €10m and further income is hoped for.
The big one for the Bundesliga club would be Emil Forsberg, and it’s suggested the club would accept €40m. If that were to happen then it would be much easier to meet the claimed €20m Everton asking price for Lookman.
