Former Poland international Ludovic Obraniak has told WP SportoweFakty that OGC Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bułka is ready to join a big club like Manchester United.
The 24-year-old initially joined the Ligue 1 side on loan in 2021 and his stay there was made permanent a year later. He’s been a regular since the start of this season, keeping 15 clean sheets and conceding 26 goals from 30 games.
Last week, Kanał Sportowy journalist Mateusz Borek made a surprise claim that Nice have received a ‘first official offer’ of €40m from Manchester United for the stopper.
Wojciech Szczęsny has been the first-choice goalkeeper for Poland and the 33-year-old could announce his international retirement in the summer.
“I think that is exactly what will happen [Bułka moving to a big club]. Several big clubs will be looking for a goalkeeper. Manchester United will, in my opinion, try to find someone for Onana, and also Real Madrid might go to the market for a goalkeeper after another Courtois injury,” he said.
When asked if Manchester United or the La Liga side would consider Bułka, Obraniak explained: “Absolutely. In my opinion, he’s a player who sooner or later will play for a big club.”
Last summer, the Red Devils signed André Onana and Altay Bayındır, and the latter has been restricted to only one appearance this season. There’s been claims of the Turkish stopper not being happy at Old Trafford and that could leave Erik ten Hag’s side.
However, Bułka isn’t the level of signing for a back-up goalkeeper, and Onana has been been doing much better recently.
