Divock Origi’s agents are scratching around at the end of the window looking for a move for the striker as the former Liverpool man continues his descent from ‘absolute hero to unwanted player’.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say it was ‘a rather short step’ from good to bad for the Belgian, who is very much in a difficult phase of his career.
They explain that the call from AC Milan was supposed to mark a turning point in his career and turn him into a protagonist after years spent at Liverpool being the hero from the bench.
However, he disappointed for the Rossoneri and was quickly shipped out on loan to Nottingham Forest, a move which came at the end of the summer and was supposed to relaunch his career.
That has not proven to be the case, though, as he’s managed just 117 minutes in nine league games without a goal.
So disappointing has it been Nottingham Forest are now in talks to end it early, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side keen to get rid and remove the Belgian’s €4m salary from the books.
That’s a major blow for the Italians, who had been hoping to sell him permanently and at least make something positive from the former Liverpool hero.
That’s not been the case, though, and Nottingham Forest are in talks to end his loan six months early, with his agents now scratching around looking for alternatives.
They are currently focused on MLS and Los Angeles FC; Dallas and Cincinnati have all shown an interest without making official contact with Milan.
It’s a sad situation for the Belgian, who was once a hero at Anfield but has struggled since departing.
