Former Bordeaux star Henri Saivet has been strongly linked with a move to Marseille, and is expected to leave Newcastle United this summer.
Saivet signed for the Magpies in a £5m deal in January, but has failed to force himself into Rafael Benitez’s plans.
There have been reports claiming Marseille have already contacted Saivet’s representatives, but nothing seems to have materialised so far.
According to L’Equipe on Sunday, Saint-Etienne and Nantes have also entered the race to sign Saivet.
However, Christophe Galtier’s team are interested in signing the Senegalese midfielder on loan with an option to buy. Saint-Etienne also want Newcastle to pay half of Saviet’s wages which stands around €200,000/month.
Nantes and Marseille are also lurking around, and it remains to be seen if Saivet can quickly complete his move in the final days of the transfer window.
