After Pep Guardiola’s decision, defender set to sign on loan with an option to buy

 

After being left out of Manchester City’s Champions League list, Eliaquim Mangala is reportedly attracting a small group of teams racing for him.

Tuttosport says that AC Milan, Valencia and Porto are all considering signing the defender, and the three clubs currently have a big influence from his agent Jorge Mendes.

They claim that Milan can’t afford a permanent transfer right now, but would be interested in a loan deal with an option to buy, which is Manchester City’s idea. The other club’s conditions aren’t mentioned in the article.

Mangala’s wages, which are said to be €4m per season, are also something that concerns the Rossoneri. So it’s basically reported that Milan can’t afford the transfer fee nor the player’s salary.

It looks like Manchester City will have to lose a few million if they decide to offload Mangala to the Italian side, otherwise the other two clubs will end up landing the defender.

A move for any of the clubs would initially be a loan, and it’s a case of Manchester City trying to make the best out of a bad situation… or giving Mangala another chance.
