Aksam report Newcastle United have contacted Galatasaray again over the potential signing of Garry Rodrigues.
The Cape Verde international has been linked with Newcastle United in the past 12 months.
Aksam say Newcastle United officials are keen on bringing Rodrigues to St James’ Park in this transfer window. It’s reported the Premier League side are ‘determined’ to get a deal done for the winger.
It’s claimed Newcastle United have contacted Galatasaray regarding Rodrigues and the Turkish giants are looking for a fee in the region of €20m. The Turkish newspaper reports Galatasaray are currently waiting on UEFA’s decision over FFP before making any decision about the sale of Rodrigues.
The club are likely to face sanctions from UEFA over their financial situation, which could force them to sell Rodrigues to Newcastle United or any other interested side.
Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim is not completely against the sale of Rodrigues, and he’s content to let the player leave if a good offer arrives.
Newcastle United have made previous approaches for the player and this latest contact was expected.
