Sporx report Fenerbahce are set to join the race to sign Leicester City striker Islam Slimani.
According to Sporx, Fenerbahce are looking for a proven goalscorer as the club are unlikely to keep hold of Tottenham Hotspur forward Vincent Janssen.
Last season the Dutchman was loaned to the Turkish side, but now he doesn’t want another loan and Fenerbahce wouldn’t entertain Tottenham’s likely asking price.
The Turkish website report Fenerbahce will try to loan the Leicester city player, and talks are likely to begin after Sunday’s presidential elections.
Slimani was linked with a move to fellow Turkish club Besiktas before he signed for Newcastle United on loan during the last window, and the Algeria international reportedly wants a fresh start.
Since joining Leicester City from Sporting, Slimani has struggled to hold down a regular place in the team and another move is looking likely.
The 29-year old played just 16 Premier League games last season, with four of those at Newcastle United.
Slimani is under contract with Leicester City until 2021, and, like the Tottenham and Janssen situation, a permanent move may be the preference.
