Former Tottenham coach Joe Jordan feels the Premier League title will be contested between the two Manchester clubs, Liverpool and Chelsea. The four clubs have been busy in this transfer window, whilst Arsenal have again been criticised for their lack of activity so far this summer.
In an interview with TMW, the ex Serie A forward was asked who he thought are the favourites to land the Premier League title come May. Jordan believes this is hard to predict because of the managerial changes at Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United, but also because Liverpool will have Jurgen Klopp from the start this time.
The former Scotland international said all the pressure will be on Manchester City and Manchester United, but Chelsea’s challenge will be interesting because of the arrival of Antonio Conte.
“Impossible to say, coaches have arrived among the most famous clubs in the world, I think of Guardiola and Conte. Mourinho is back, and there is Klopp from the beginning. The Premier League is beautiful because of this, and for sure the pressure will be all on the Manchester clubs.
“Chelsea in my opinion depends on the striker. Conte has to change the mentality of the team, but with or without Costa the team has a completely different face,” said Jordan.
Like in previous transfers windows Arsenal have come in for flak because of the lack of players coming into the club. Whilst their rivals have been splashing the cash this summer the North London side have only brought in Euro 2016 star Granit Xhaka, and Rob Holding from Division One side Bolton Wanderers.
