Like hay fever, Gareth Bale to Manchester United returns every spring/summer, but *this* time, it’s different.
This is, at least, what Marca are reporting on Wednesday afternoon as they report the Red Devils will indeed make a move for the Real Madrid winger this summer, as this time they believe they have a good chance to get his ‘OK’.
The Welsh forward’s comments following the Champions League final about needing to play regularly were exactly what they wanted to hear, and Manchester United are going into this with the plan of making Bale their ‘star’, in the same vein as Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spanish outlet state this is also a ‘strategic move’ for the Premier League, as the league know the more stars they have, the more people will watch, and bringing Bale back to England would help.
As they put it, ‘in Manchester United, there are no discussions’, and signing the Champions League final hero is the ‘only way’ to inspire their fans’ hope after a disappointing season despite Mourinho wanting to spend money elsewhere, like in defence or midfield.
Over in Spain, Marca claim the former Tottenham man’s case is preoccupying Florentino Pérez more than Cristiano Ronaldo’s, who they believe will renew regardless of his annoyance with the club and the president.
Despite this, Real Madrid aren’t interested in transferring Bale, and aren’t worried about him forcing his way out of the club.
So, just more of the same then?
