Napoli midfielder Jorginho has long been linked with a move to Manchester City. The Brazil-born Italian international is one of the priority targets for Pep Guardiola this summer.
The Premier League winners have already tabled the bid and are now awaiting a response from the Serie A outfit, the player’s agent Joao Santos has revealed. Jorginho’s representative stressed he will “evaluate everything”, if the two clubs can reach an agreement.
“I know that an offer from Manchester City has arrived at Napoli … We are awaiting for the Italian club’s response and I don’t think the proposal will be turned down. If Napoli find an agreement with the City, then we will evaluate everything,” Santos told Tuttomercatoweb.
City’s initial offer of €45 million was turned down by Napoli. Aurelio De Laurentiis was demanding €55 million, but the report claims the two clubs could settle for a fee close to €50 million.
CalcioNapoli24.it also suggests that City have agreed personal terms with Jorginho and the midfielder will earn €4.5 million-a-year after he completes a switch to the Etihad.
