Willy Boly arrived at FC Porto from Braga in 2016 and was able to spend only one season with them, before being loaned out to Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer.

The centre-back was one of the standout performers for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side last season, which helped Wolves to seal a promotion to the Premier League.

His performance in England’s second tier club competition saw him make it to Championship Team of the Season.

On Monday, there was again optimism in Portugal the 27-year-old will be able to complete his permanent switch to the England.

France Football has echoed the comments made by Portuguese publications A Bola and Record.

They claim Wolves have taken the purchase option for Boly in recent hours. The newly promoted club to the Premier League will have to pay €13m to Porto to secure his services.

Boly is also eager to join Wolves and the player is ready to sign a long-term contract with the English side. The Frenchman has become a fan favourite at Molineux Stadium after his stellar performances for them in the 2017/18 campaign.

And just to be triply sure, L’Equipe are also reporting it.

It’s all safe now.
