At Sport Witness we’ve been covering Ricardo Pereira to Leicester City for months.
The links first came from Portugal, with claims of an offer going back to late March. In April, sources confirmed to Sport Witness that Leicester City had made an approach, but there was no offer on the table at that time.
Then two days ago Portuguese newspaper A Bola reported it was all done and agreed. Leicester City would be paying €20m, plus a further €5m in bonuses, for the Porto player and a move was on the way.
Then Friday was pretty silent from the Portuguese media on the matter, but now it’s back with a bang.
Record’s Saturday edition reports Pereira is already in England for his medical. The figures are almost the same, €20m plus a further €4/5m in bonuses.
The fullback will be signing a five year contract with Leicester City.
Porto are very happy with the deal because it’s stated Pereira’s release clause is €25m, not the €37.5m reported elsewhere, and the player is entering the final year of his contract.
