Turkish newspaper Star claim Besiktas are ready to make an offer for Leicester City attacker Islam Slimani as they look to find a replacement for Cenk Tosun.
The Turkish club sold Tosun to Everton during the winter transfer window, but his replacement Vagner Love has struggled to make an impact, and will subsequently leave at the end of the season.
Besiktas president Orman was in London at the start of the week along with the club’s head of transfers Umut Guner, and Star say the pair held talks with Slimani’s agent.
Star add that Besiktas can offer Slimani regular football as well as European competition, but the final call will be made by their manager Senol Gunes.
Slimani was linked with a move to Besiktas during the last winter transfer window but the player ended up at Newcastle United on loan.
Besiktas’ priority in the next window will be bringing in a top class forward and it seems selling Tosun to Everton in mid-season has backfired on them, with Galatasaray on the verge of winning the Turkish Super Lig.
