It was only a matter of time before Borussia Dortmund, a team known to give young players a chance and developing them into excellent footballers, were linked with Anthony Martial.
The French forward appears to be out of favour these days at Old Trafford, and various reports from France and Italy have suggested he could be sold in the summer after he allegedly refused to renew his deal with Manchester United.
Juventus appear to be the “favourites” to acquire his services, with the likes of Chelsea also being thrown into the ring, but if Le10 Sport are to be believed, Martial could end up in the Bundesliga.
According to the French website, the German side have decided to bring in a ‘great forward’ this summer, and the former Monaco starlet is one of the names on their list.
Contact is said to have taken place between Dortmund and Martial’s entourage, with talks currently ongoing without an actual offer being made to Manchester United.
It’s probably fair to say the 22-year-old would get a lot more game time in Germany, especially if the club were to sell Christian Pulisic in the summer.
We’ll file this one in the “we’ll be keeping an eye on this” section of our archives, mostly because it’s Le10 and we don’t recommend getting excited about anything they say.
