Manolo Gabbiadini’s agent Silvio Pagliari has told Radio CRC that the Southampton striker’s “future is still in the Premier League” after helping the Saints secure a berth in England’s top flight club competition.
The Italian international netted the winner in Southampton’s 1-0 win over Swansea City. The victory was sufficient for his side to avoid being relegated to the Championship. However, that won’t stop the reports linking Gabbiadini with a move away from St Mary’s Stadium.
Gabbiadini joined Southampton from Napoli in January 2017. Italian publication Calciomercato reported the attacker is planning to leave Southampton and return to Serie A in the summer transfer window. Bologna and Lazio were identified as potential suitors for the striker.
The report even stressed that Gabiadini wants to be the key player at a club next season. The player’s agent acknowledged recent talks about his client returning to Italy, but stressed Gabbiadini wants to continue in England.
“It’s strange he’s been fighting for salvation because the team is full of internationals,” Pagliari explained.
“The Premier League is an important experience, he’s fine there”
