Unless something drastic changes at Manchester City in the coming years, it seems Kevin De Bruyne will most likely spend the vast majority of his career in the north of England.
Clearly delighted with playing under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, there are few clubs that could both afford the Belgium international and offer him a step up from the Premier League champions.
However, that doesn’t mean he will retire in the sky blue shirt, as his agent has hinted a move, way down the line, could be ideal for his client.
Speaking to MNM in Belgium, Patrick de Koster, relayed by Sud Info, said: “For now, he’s very happy at this club. We always look what the best solution for the player, both financially and football wise. Kevin’s future? I can see him finish at Los Angeles”.
At 26 years of age and a contract at Manchester City until 2023, there is no way De Bruyne is already thinking about a move to the MLS, and, by that time, there might be a new cool team, like in Miami, for example?
Kevin and LA? He doesn’t really seem the sort.
With 12 goals and 20 assists in 49 games this season, De Bruyne only missed out on getting the PFA Player of the Year award because of Mohamed Salah’s ridiculous first season at Liverpool.
Any other year, and the trophy would have been his. Easily.
