A few days ago we covered Bild’s report on Pierre-Michel Lasogga not having a relegation clause with Hamburg.
With HSV on the brink of the drop, that means if the striker returns from Leeds United, and Hamburg fail to offload him elsewhere during the summer, he’ll still be entitled to just over £3m a year despite being in Germany’s second division.
This has caught attention around the German media, with the country’s edition of Eurosport pointing he earns more than RB Leipzig’s German international Timo Werner.
That sounds related to a Leeds United stay, but once again interest from other English clubs is reference, and once again those clubs aren’t named.
Unfortunately for Lasogga, he’s picked a really bad time to be off form and not scoring. Last finding the back of the net against Derby County in February, the German doesn’t seem to be a crucial player for Leeds manager Paul Heckingbottom.
That, and the player’s wages, make a permanent transfer feel unlikely right now.
