According to a claim in the Italian media, West Ham United are set for talks with Inter Milan with regards to whether they will be purchasing Joao Mario.
The Portugal international is currently on loan with West Ham until the end of the season, and the Hammers have a right of redemption on the player.
Calciomercato have reported it’s looking very unlikely Mario will play for Inter Milan again after failing to make impact since his arrival at the San Siro.
The Serie A side will be looking to offload the attacking midfielder in the summer, but as yet there’s been no indication from West Ham if they will sign him on a permanent deal.
Subsequently Inter Milan will sit down with West Ham and hopefully thrash out a deal with the Premier League club. The main focus in these talks will be what West Ham are prepared to offer for Mario as, according to the claims, no fixed transfer fee was agreed in January.
Mario hasn’t exactly made the impact expected from him since joining West Ham, so it’ll be interesting to see if he remains with the club.
