According to a report in the Spanish media Tottenham Hotspur sent a scout to the game between Red Bull Salzburg and Lazio on Thursday night.
The London club have been linked with Salzburg midfielder Amadou Haidara in recent weeks and had also scouted the player previous to the Lazio game.
Estadio Deportivo report Tottenham were on the scouting list to see Salzburg progress to the semi finals of the Europa League and were joined by La Liga side Sevilla.
The Spanish newspaper hasn’t reported who Tottenham or Sevilla were casting an eye, but with regards to the Premier League side it’s likely their attention would have been on Haidara.
That’s fortunate as Haidara was the Man of the Match, and scored a goal as Salzburg won 4-1.
Last month we covered reports from the Austrian press that Tottenham have been scouting the Mali midfielder over a long period of time.
It’s likely Tottenham will face competition from RB Leipzig to sign the 20 year old as the German club need to find a replacement for Liverpool bound Naby Keita.
