Italy’s SportMediaset name Manchester United as one of a number of clubs (Five, the others being PSG, Juventus, Real Madrid and Man City) keen on signing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
This is nothing new, we’ve covered a raft of claims in recent months from Italy about Manchester United interest in the player. All the time the potential price has been pegged at over €100m, but that’s not what the clubs named have been offering.
As it stands, approaches have been around the €70m mark, so Lazio, headed by tough negotiator Claudio Lotito, have sent back the proposals and told everyone it’ll be €150m or no deal.
If the claims are correct, that’s what will have landed on Ed Woodward’s desk, and the next move is his.
In the current market, €70m would appear too cheap, so Lazio are right to make it clear the price will be an awful lot higher.
There’s a reason to be cheerful for Woodward and Mourinho… it’s not claimed Lazio completely ruled a sale out.
