On Tuesday we covered claims from Spain’s El Confidencial that Arsenal are keen, yes, still, on Karim Benzema.
El Confidencial have been pretty good on big Real Madrid exits in recent years, and they reported Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have been ‘knocking’ on the door of the Frenchman.
The big problem is that Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo are set against a sale, and that would be keeping Benzema at Madrid, but Florentino Perez was presented as not too fussed.
Surprise, surprise, Don Balon have picked it up and run away with things. They reckon Perez doesn’t care what Zidane thinks and is happy with a €60m Dortmund offer.
Arsenal are presented as having offered €40m, and Perez obviously much prefers the higher amount.
Benzema, however, does not. He either wants the Premier League move or to stay at Real Madrid.
We all know how this goes, links build with Arsenal, against their better judgement fans start to think it could happen, a Twitter ITK states Benzema has been seen in London, and then the player makes it clear he’s not going anywhere.
