A few days ago the Talisca to Wolves rumour was reborn after something of a sabbatical.
Claims spread around England, Turkey and Portugal that Wolves are once again keen on the Brazilian, who is owned by Benfica and currently on loan at Besiktas.
Without a lot of clear reason, the idea of Wolves being prepared to pay €30m was pushed around, and perhaps the situation now makes more sense.
Turkey’s Ntv report Besiktas have decided to commence negotiations to sign Talisca permanently. The club’s president Fikret Orman is going to meet Benfica personally and try to talk the price down.
Besiktas have a purchase option of €21m, but it’s long been reported they’d want to pay less than that amount.
The idea of Wolves being interested puts pressure on Benfica, especially with the Championship club looking good for promotion to the Premier League.
And that could be the whole point of Wolves being linked again.
