Club ready to buy player and immediately sell him to Arsenal for profit in summer

For a while, Geoffrey Kondogbia to Tottenham was a thing.

We didn’t believe it, but it was most certainly a thing, as Mauricio Pochettino looked around for a new midfielder.

Well, now it’s Arsenal’s turn to be thrown into the mix, as FC Inter News claim there’s a strong interest from Arsène Wenger in the former Monaco starlet.

Currently on loan at Valencia from Inter, the 25-year-old has enjoyed a good season so far, to the extent where the La Liga club are keen to acquire his services full-time.

However, it wouldn’t be to keep him for long, as their plan would be to then immediately sell him onto Arsenal for a profit.

With a buyout in the loan set at €25m (scheduled to be paid over four seasons), FC Inter News claim Kondogbia’s agent, who also happens to be his brother, met with the Serie A side over the past few days to discuss the midfielder’s permanent move to Valencia, who are ready to trigger the clause.

While the fee Arsenal would be buying him for in this scenario hasn’t been revealed, the Italian website have it down as a “small (but also potentially considerable) profit”.

That’s basically anywhere from €30m onwards, and unless it hits €60m+, the Gunners shouldn’t have too many problems meeting Valencia’s demands.

The problem here remains the reports from Spain claiming that, once Kondogbia signs for Valencia, he’ll have an €80m release clause inserted in his new deal.
