Once optimistic that André Carrillo would be staying at Watford FC, it seems the Portuguese press is now changing their collective mind about this.
Loaned from Benfica until the end of the season, the winger had a good start in the Premier League, where trained by his former boss Marco Silv, he seemed to be worth the investment for a permanent signing.
But things have been a bit different with manager Javi Gracia, and that would be the reason why Carrillo could be taking a plane back to Lisbon at the end of the season, according to Correio da Manhã today.
They recall that Carrillo was a request from Silva, and since he’s not in Gracia’s plans, it’s possible that he will be sent back to the Estádio da Luz.
That’s strange because a couple of weeks ago, the Portuguese press had been saying the Lisbon side were counting on the €20m Watford would be paying for Carrillo.
Now with this mystery coming from both sides, maybe it’s a good situation for Watford to offer less money and try to take him at a good price.
