Reported as close to Barcelona and then Arsenal throughout the season, Celta Vigo’s Nolito never moved and finished his productive season at his current club.

Currently with the Spain national team for the 2016 Euros, the left winger’s future is still up in the air but a new piece of information has now reportedly come out of Spain.

Minutes before the start of Spain-Czech Republic on Monday, which Del Bosque’s men won 1-0 thanks to a Piqué header, TV5 in Spain, relayed by Sport, reported that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have reached an agreement with the player.

The journalist who broke the news, Manu Carreño, also informed viewers that Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham are also supposedly interested in the 29-year-old, having sent a scout to watch the winger during the game in Toulouse.

Barcelona are also monitoring the Celta Vigo star’s situation closely, seeing him as an ideal rotation option for their attacking trio, and the player is apparently confident to once again wear the azulgrana shirt, having done so in the past during the 2010-11 season.

As we see it, reaching an agreement with Manchester City while being confident of signing for Barcelona is a very strange mixture of information in a report, but it could just be the player is covering all bases as he seeks to play Champions League football next season.

If a move to Barcelona never materialises, then playing under Pep Guardiola isn’t a bad alternative, is it?
