According to Le10 Sport, Tottenham are primed to return to try and sign Malcom from Bordeaux in the summer.
The French website claim to, according to their sources, confirm the information published by the London Evening Standard, and Spurs have let the Brazilian winger’s entourage know they’ll be back to finish what they started in January.
Over the past month or so, Mauricio Pochettino’s side were rumoured to have bid up to €50m to convince Bordeaux to let their star transfer to the Premier League, but to no avail.
The Ligue 1 side were adamant Malcom would finish the season with them, even promising their new manager Gus Poyet that would be the case during his interview for the role.
However, there’s always been an understanding the Brazilian starlet would be allowed to leave come the end of the season, but not at any price.
Le10 Sport suggest a bid of around €60m, which isn’t too awful in today’s market, would be enough for Bordeaux to say yes.
That’s a lot of money for Tottenham, who aren’t known for paying excessive fees for players, but in the current climate, there’s a very good chance their transfer record of £36m for Davinson Sanchez will be smashed.
