According to Fotomac, Malatyaspor have an agreement ‘in principle’ to sign Manchester City forward Olarenwaju Kayode.
The Nigerian striker has been strongly linked with a move to French club Amiens this week, but in Turkey’ it’s believed Malatyaspor are now leading the way for the Manchester City player.
However, there are no reports if Malatyaspor are looking to loan the Manchester City forward or sign him on a permanent deal. Fellow Turkish side Bursaspor are also monitoring the situation with the forward, and were the first club linked when it became apparent Kayode could leave Girona.
Manchester City loaned Kayode to the Spanish side after signing him from Austria Wien last summer, but the player has been unable to make a significant impact since arriving in Spain.
The 24 year old scored 37 goals in 87 games at Austria Wien and his performances earned him a move to Manchester City, but he’s started just two games for Girona this season.
Kayode recently found himself in hot water after failing to return to Girona after the Christmas break, paperwork problems have been blamed but there’s since been insinuations in the Spanish media that the club aren’t happy with him.
It’s worth noting the Turkish press are always likelier to take the side of a Super Lig club in a transfer rumour.
