Norwegian side Stabak have confirmed on their official website the signing of Abdul-Basit Agouda.
The 18 year old was linked with a move to Leeds United, with reports in recent days suggesting the Championship side were close to signing the player.
Agouda has signed a three year deal with Stabak after becoming a free agent at the start of the year. Due to the lack of opportunities he was getting at his former club Strømsgodset he ran his contract down, despite being offered a new deal.
Speaking about his move to Stabak, Agouda said: “I’m very happy to be here and look forward to getting started right away. I have greeted the guys and everyone seems nice.”
This may come as blow to Leeds United after tracking Agouda in recent weeks. The English side sent a scout to watch the forward play for Norway’s U18 national team, and were reportedly looking to move in the youngster.
A few days ago it was reported in Norway that Leeds United were in the running to sign the young attacker, but the case is now closed.
