It’s been well documented Cenk Tosun is on the verge of a move to Everton, and Besiktas are now in need of a replacement, with Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud being first choice… at least for one Turkish media outlet.
BeinSportsTr claim Besiktas’ president isn’t just in England to finalise a deal with Everton for Tosun, but he also has plans to sign Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud
The French striker was left out of the matchday squad when Arsenal drew with Chelsea, and there’s a rumour he could be on the way out.
BeinSportsTR say once Cenk Tosun’s transfer to Everton completed, Fikret Orman will begin negotiating with Arsenal officials with regards to signing the France international.
It seems Besiktas are searching for Tosun’s replacement in England in this transfer window as the club have previously been linked with a move for the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Islam Slimani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
With Tosun’s move to Everton expected to be announced soon it looks like Besiktas will now move on Giroud.
