Russian website Sport-Express.Ru claim Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in signing Spartak Moscow’s Ze Luis, and have made an offer for the player.
However, the Russian club have rejected the Premier League side’s bid of €5m, and Brighton will subsequently have to increase their offer.
It’s claimed Spartak Moscow have no intention of letting the Cape Verde international join Brighton in the next window because they don’t want to lose a first team player.
The Moscow side are still in the Europa League, and the club are also challenging for their second successive Russian Super League title.
Sport Express say with Brighton struggling for goals signing Ze Luis could help bolster their attacking options when the transfer window opens next month. Chris Houghton’s side are currently 13th in the Premier League table, but could quite easily be dragged into a relegation fight.
Ze Luis is contracted to Spartak Moscow until 2019 and has played 15 games in all competitions this season, scoring 4 goals.
