It’s that time of the year again, as we gear up towards a new transfer window, when the name of teams sending scouts to games get published more and more often.

This time around, we’ve got Newcastle and Southampton travelling to France to watch Bordeaux against Marseille on Sunday night, thanks to La Provence, where they were joined by a few other Premier League sides, including Manchester United and Tottenham.

The obvious target here would be Bordeaux’s Malcom, who has attracted interest from some of the bigger teams in England already, and has been given an alleged green light to leave next summer.

Of course, we find it hard to see the Magpies or the Saints being able to rival bigger teams for his signature, but, if no offer comes forth, then they would be ideal places for the Brazilian to break into the Premier League, much like Richarlison has done at Watford.

While we highly doubt Newcastle were keeping an eye on Florian Thauvin, Southampton could be considering him for next season now that the forward has matured and developed into a much better player over the past season and a half.

There’s also Morgan Sanson, who, already performing well with Montpellier prior to his move to Marseille, has been integral to Rudi Garcia’s plans this year, and once again showcased his importance by scoring a 94th minute equaliser in a game that ended 1-1.

Nicolas de Préville, Lucas Ocampos, Otavio and Francois Kamano are also players the scouts could have been keeping an eye on.

We normally would have included Maxime Lopez in that list, with the youngster already turning down a move to Liverpool in the past, but his performances this season have suggested a move to the Premier League, even to the likes of Newcastle and Southampton, might be a bit premature for the 19-year-old.
