At the end of the summer transfer window, on deadline day to be exact, QPR were linked with a move for William Remy.
L’Equipe reported that QPR had initiated contact of some sort, but with the report coming on deadline day, nothing followed and Remy has hardly been seen since.
The Montpellier defender has a contract running until June 2018, but it may as well have expired last June as far as the French club seem concerned, because the player simply isn’t in the reckoning right now.
Tuesday’s edition of French newspaper L’Equipe does touch upon the situation, but only, as part of their preview, to say he’s out of the squad for tonight’s match against Guingamp due to managerial choice. Others are out through injury or suspension, but Remy is clearly persona non grata.
This all gives QPR an excellent chance to sign the player in January should they still be interested. Remy, 26 years of age, is a right footed central defender who can also play as a right back.
