Jose Mourinho may not have as big a worry over Marouane Fellaini as he initially feared.
After Roberto Martinez’s comments about a knee ligament injury made most people assume the Manchester United midfielder would be out for months, there comes some brighter news on Sunday morning.
Belgium’s official national team account has published a tweet which says Fellaini will be out for a ‘couple of weeks’, and won’t be in contention for the international against Cyprus.
It’s said to be an injury to the medial ligament of Fellaini’s left knee.

The Manchester United player is wished well in his recovery, and it’s a scan which has helped deliver the brighter news.
Fellaini was due to be scanned on Sunday morning, and this outcome would fit in with that timeline.
Mourinho won’t be thrilled that he’s without Fellaini at all, but the Manchester United manager will much prefer this diagnosis to the others which have been suggested.
